Alisa Das
group lead
Through cultural events I am currently a sophomore at the University of Washington working my way towards Law School. I have always enjoyed fostering the Odia in me from learning the language and customs to participating in cultural activities. My family has an active role in the Odia NW community and I hope to follow in that path, in supporting and helping grow the Odia youth community.
Ayush Das
treasurer
I am 14 years old and have been a part of the PNW Odia Community ever since I can remember. I take much pride in connecting to my Odia roots through singing and participating in events such as Ratha Yatra and Dussehra. I hope to fulfill my role as treasurer of the OSY and contribute to the progress of the group by making proper financial decisions and establish future opportunities for OSY. As a result, OSY will eventually grow through the means of organizational and team building skills.
Sukanya Nanda
media lead
I am 13 years old and I’m glad to be the media lead of Odia Seattle Youth! Not many people pay attention to the media aspects of large events such as photography, lighting, or sound but these parts really excite me. I hope to use my skills to help the OSY community expand and make the events more engaging.
Ashlesha Mishra
secretary
I am 14 years old and I thoroughly enjoy executing leadership roles. I learn Odissi dance under Guru Dr. Ratna Roy and have performed in Odisha’s international dance festivals multiple times. Born in India, I have spent part of my childhood around Indian, and Odisha culture. I feel highly privileged to be the secretary of Odia Seattle Youth. This will be a functional time to use my practice of organizing from past years and increase the standards of my note-taking skills. I hope that I will be able to greatly serve and fulfill this job and responsibly record meeting minutes, help plan events, and organize Odia Youth Group documents.
Digant Das
social network lead
I have really enjoyed social networking and really look forward to helping grow OSY’s platform. Some fun facts about me are that I am a huge fan of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom; dinosaurs are more than a passion and I want to be a paleontologist - did I mention I also like weight-lifting?
Arushi Dash
communications lead
I am 14 years old, and I swim competitively, take piano lessons, am part of NCL, and run a non-profit organization called HelpEduc8! I am so honored to be a part of Odia Seattle Youth. I feel this role is an opportunity for me to improve my time management and writing skills. The knowledge that I’ve gained over the years will prove itself useful when it comes time for me to organize and host fundraisers and other cultural events.
Megha Mishra
design lead
I am very excited to be the designer of Odia Seattle Youth! I have always been passionate about design. My previous experience includes birthday party decorations and T-shirt logos. I'm eager to take this opportunity and improve and add on to the knowledge I have acquired so far. Along with design, I also love music, dance, and drawing.
Mukta Mishra
outreach manager
I am 14 years old and a strong believer in community service. I have lived in the Seattle area my whole life and have been with the Odia community a long time too. I love to be active and involved in whatever I do, especially my community. I look forward to being a contributing member on the OSY Board for a long time, and I hope my ideas will contribute to make the OSY community a better place!
Sibani Das
advisor
I am an MD-MHA student from UW, have done Odissi dance, and come from a very active family in the Odia community, from convening OSA 2012 to Odia community leadership, Ratha Yatra to Dussehra. Having been part of the PNW Odia community and culture growing up, I am really looking forward to building, growing, and strengthening our Odia youth community.
